Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

This policy explains what SearchAudit.io collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain English — because we audit for honesty, and we hold ourselves to it.

Information we collect

When you run a free audit, we collect the URL you submit and the publicly available HTML at that address. We do not require an account for the free audit.

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and — if you subscribe — billing details processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never store full card numbers.

How we use your information

To run audits, generate fixes, track citations, and deliver the features you subscribe to.

To send transactional email (receipts, score alerts you opt into) and, if you opt in, occasional product updates.

To improve our detection models using aggregated, anonymized audit data. Individual site contents are never sold.

AI crawlers & third parties

To audit your site we fetch it the way an AI crawler would. We may test your chosen prompts against third-party AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google) to measure citations.

We use privacy-respecting analytics (Plausible, PostHog) and do not sell personal data to advertisers.

Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your account data at any time from Settings, or by emailing privacy@searchaudit.io.

Deleting your account permanently removes your domains, audit history, and personal information.

Data retention

Audit results are retained for the life of your account so you can track score changes over time. Free, anonymous audits are retained for 90 days, then purged.
